Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu : After your arrival at International Airport, Our representative will take you to the hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle. Check-in and stay at the hotel. The largest urban city of Nepal – Kathmandu is the political and cultural capital of the country. Kathmandu, along with its sister cities – Patan and Bhaktapur, is termed as Kathmandu Valley. Brimming with majestic temples, stupas and palaces, this city is sure to amaze you at every turn.
Day 2:Post breakfast, leave the hotel for sightseeing in Kathmandu. Reach at Pashupatinath Temple that lies on the banks of the Bagmati River and behold its 4th century architectural splendour. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this temple is one of the most sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. In the pagoda, which is two-tiered and has golden roof and silver doors, there is a holy linga of deity Shiva.
Day 3:Then, head to the famous Buddhist shrine in Kathmandu – Bauddhanath. This stupa is the centre of Tibetan Buddhism and the largest of its kind in Kathmandu Valley.
Then, head to the Swayambhunath, a famous place of religious interest that houses a stupa and many shrines. Recently a Tibetan monastery, museum and library are added in the complex. This stupa is adorned with multi-coloured prayer flags that flutter in the winds. On the dome, a pair of Buddha’s eyes is painted, symbolising wisdom and compassion.
Day 4: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (210 km/approx. 7 hours)
Meals: Breakfast
After having sumptuous breakfast, leave the hotel to reach Pokhara, which offers views of the mighty Himalayan peaks. On the way, you get the opportunity to indulge in river rafting and paying a visit to the Manakamna Temple. The presiding deity of this shrine is Goddess Bhagwati, manifestation of Goddess Parvati. Through cable cars, you will be taken up to the temple. This cable car covers a distance of 5 km from the starting point and takes nearly 10 minutes to reach.
Day 5: This after, enjoy exploring Bindabasini Temple- one of the oldest places of religious importance in Pokhara. Goddess Bhagvati, an incarnation of Goddess Durga is the presiding deity of this shrine, which was brought here from India. Located atop a small hill, this temple exudes a pious aura that is hard to find elsewhere. On a clear day, you can behold sensational views of the majestic Himalayas from the temple. This place is located in vicinity of old bazaar so you can indulge in shopping here.
Continue the excursion to Devi’s Fall, which is also known as the Patale Chhango (Nether Fall). It is a beautiful waterfall that lies 2 km Southwest of Pokhara Airport. During the rainy season, maximum waters cascade down the rugged rocks. Thereafter, pay a visit to the famous Gupteswar Cave, which is in two parts. First part of this cave has a temple of Lord Shiva. Photography is not allowed this part of the cave.
Stay overnight at the hotel and relax.
Day 6: Drive from Pokhara to Nagarkot (260 km/approx. 6 hours)
Meals: Breakfast
Soon after breakfast, gear up for sightseeing in Nagarkot. Return to Kathmandu and reach Nagarkot, after 1.5-hour drive. This place offers mind-stilling views of the sun rising and setting from and behind the majestic mountains. You can also enjoy a close view of Mt. Everest, which is the highest mountain peak of the world.
Head to the hotel to relax.
Day 7: Depart from Kathmandu
