Diu is home to the Diu Fort and the Fortress of Panikota. Both these forts were built by the Portuguese when they first invaded India. It is known that the Mughal emperor was extremely keen on invading Gujarat. Sultan Bahadur Shah of Gujarat sought help from the Portuguese to build Diu Fort in 1535. “Diu Tour” The Fortress of Panikota was built in water to resemble a ship in order to misguide invaders. The fort also offers a fantastic vantage point to guard the territory.

Naida Caves are not naturally formed caves. It is located right outside the Diu Fort.
